About me

My full birth name is Kim Sønderholm Andersen, I was born in Aarhus, Denmark on June 13, 1973.

I’ve always been, and still is, a huge movie nerd! After graduating dramaschool in 2001 I moved to Copenhagen where I live to this day because I always had a dream of a career as an actor in movies. I have had a lot of great experiences over the years, having not only worked in Denmark, but also USA, UK, Germany, Poland, France, Norway, Sweden and I’ve also had the privilege to be cast in Canadian, Chilian and Russian produced movies and even had a small cameo role in a Bollywood movie.

I’ve always felt proud of my family name “Sønderholm” which usually become “Sonderholm” when I work outside of Denmark, but in 2005 I decided to skip using my last-last name “Andersen” professionally because the name felt like it was becoming ten miles long.

At a very early stage in my life where I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, I volounteered as a Constable at the Danish Army’s Telegraph Services in Fredericia, and had, to begin with, decided to go career in there as a Sergeant. I started in March 1992, went through the first months and was finally made Constable i December 1992, whereafter I was moved to the Antvorskov Armybase in Slagelse. I realized quite early that this was definately not for me, and as my work activity and motivated quickly fell to the ground, intentionally, my contract was stopped and I went back to the life as a Civilian in December 1993. After nearly two years of services I learned a lot, but most importantly that this was not at all what I want to do.

After ended Military Services I began in 1994 an Education as Informatics Assistant, an Education which at that time was pretty much the same as an IT-Operator. For many years I had a great interest in computers, but even here I had to drop out due to losing the interest. I dropped out in the Early 1996 after numerous considerations cause I knew my interest laid elsewhere.

Thinking about it, I’ve always known I wanted to be an Actor, but several things kept me from pursuing my goals, but luckily as time passed by I was able to get over those hurdles. It was a happy day when I in 1998 went to Auditions at TeaterStudio and was accepted there as a Student. The School specializes in Acting for both Film and Theater, Russian based and working with Method Acting, as used in most acknowledged School around the World.

The Method is the System developed by Konstantin Stanislavskij, who spent his entire life defining the system and even on his sickbed worked on developing. It has later been used by Michael Tjekhov, and nowadays used by several of the best Actors around the World.

In early August 1998 I started my education to become an actor – Three long and rough years in acting school. That might not sound very rough to most people, and it shouldn’t be taken in a negative way. It was a very rewarding time where I not only learned a lot of about acting techniques and also learned a lot about myself. I graduated in the summer of 2001.

The rest, I suppose, is history – I quickly got started with a bunch of big roles in small productions and some smaller roles in bigger productions, I grew a huge network and I’ve never looked back or regretted anything. Acting is, after all, for those who enjoy the process – and if you don’t enjoy the process, find another line of work! That’s just free advice!

Now you’re looking at my homepage, enjoy stalking it for pictures, filmclips, blogposts, whatever you might find interesting.
